Can You Believe That Carbon Monoxide Apparently Can Prevent Miscarriage

A German study actually found that if low-dose CO gas for pregnant women to prevent miscarriage.

Inhaling too much carbon monoxide (CO) will cause troubled breathing. Instead of a German study actually found that if low-dose CO gas for pregnant women to prevent miscarriage. A research from university of Otto-von-Guerickeoleh, Germany, found that low doses of carbonmonoxide can increase the growth of blood vessels in the placenta and establish blood flow in the umbilical cord.

The researchers used carbon monoxide on the pregnant mice with the condition known as intrauterine growth restriction, a serious complication of pregnancy and the result, carbon monoxideis able to restore the function of the placenta and prevent the death of the fetus without adverse effects.

It’s based on the extraordinary ability of carbon monoxide in mimicking the effect of Heme oxygenase-1 enzyme. It causes the growth of blood vessels in the placenta and umbilical cordumbilical cord blood flow.

Professor Ana Claudia Zenclussen,  leader of study explains, ”to prevent the death of the fetus, we found that low doses of inhaled carbon monoxide is an anti-inflammatory. This reduces the amount of cell death.” However, researchers also warned that high doses of carbon monoxide are able to improve the function of the placenta but fetal damage.

I would like more reassurance about this study, before actually trying it on pregnant women.
