The Ten Toxic Plants and Flowers Which Are Beautiful and Attractive

Know them in order to avoid them.

There is a proverb in our place. “Beauty is Dangerous”. It is not only applicable to human beauty, which attract dangers, but also to some flowers and plants which looks exotic but hides toxic in them. Keep away from them.

Foxglove:

It is a tall flower which grows in partially shady area. It is very common to find in the backyards of home. Clean your yard if your kids are backyard breakers.

Castor Bean:

This potted plant is the source for castor it. Though it looks very attractive when bloomed, it is very poisonous for human. Stay away from it.

Bittersweet Nightshade:

The brightly colored berries and lovely flowers will invite you and your kids. But those terrible berries will never tell you that they will cause danger to you. Be cautious.

Laurels:

It is a very common backyard flower in North Easter America regions. It decorates the place nicely during spring or summer. But be aware of its toxic.

Yew Shrubs:

The bright and fleshy red berries will invite you to touch them. But the seed inside that berry is extremely toxic. Avoid the shrub.

Poison Sumac:

The above said plants / flowers are dangerous when eaten. But this will cause you rashes and allergies even if touched. Don’t risk yourself.

Stinging Nettles:

This causes a painful itch leading to skin burn and rashes, if touched. It is very common in backyards. Clean it up, before you or your kids get affected.

Poison Ivy:

Same like poison sumac, it causes rashes when touched. Urushiol is the rash creator which presents in this plant.

Lantana:

The colorful cluster of flowers will attract anyone. But according to the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, it can be highly fatal if consumed.

    I used to have the last one in the fence of our house and i had munched on the flowers once or twice. still alive guess i was just lucky !!!
