Biology One Review

This is a review of Biological terms and knowledge necessary to succeed in biology.

Telophase- Nuclear envelope forms, chromosomes gather at opposite ends                         of the cell

Cytokinesis- Cytoplasm pinches in half, each daughter cell has identical                                     set of duplicate chromosomes

* Centriolles- opposite sides of nucleus help organize spindle

2)    How is the cell cycle regulated

            Cyclins regulate the cell cycle

Internal Regulators- proteins the respond to events inside the cell

Outside Regulators- direct cells to speed up or slow down, prevent excessive cell             growth and keep the tissues from disrupting

3)    How are cancer cells different from other cells?

The body’s cells lose the ability to control growth

-       Centromere attaches chromatids

-       Spindle Fibers- fanlike microtubule structure that helps separate the chromosomes

Meiosis

-       Production of sex cells (gametes)

-       The number of chromosomes is reduced by half

-       Produces unique cells (not identical)

-       Promotes diversity

-       Doesn’t go through interphase

    Wrong. Ch3#2 Prokaryotes vs Eukaryotes
Wrong. Ch3#7 Hypotonic and Hypertonic switched

This is misleading information and I did not read the rest
