Asiatic Hybrid Lilies and Oriental Hybrid Lilies
Asiatic hybrid lilies are popular among people in many different countries.
These flowering plants are available in several different colors. No matter what your preference is in terms of the hues you like in your garden, you will find something to meet your needs at a local flower store.
These are a few of the shades that are popular in Asiatic hybrid lilies:
Yellow
Red apricot
Two tone
Pink
White
Orange
The Oriental hybrids are produced from plants which are quite tall. The flowers are big and fragrant and they usually face outwards. They will grow in full sun or in partial shade.
The species that are used to create Oriental hybrids include the following:
Lilium japonicum
Lilium nobilillissimum
Lilium speciosum
L. auratum (goldband lily)
L. alexandre
L. rubellum

The Asiatic hybrids are usually medium sized. Their flowers are usually unscented and face outwards. They bloom in early summer, while the Oriental hybrids bloom later. Both sets are easy to grow and can be used to attract butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden.
There are many retailers online that can ship these bulbs directly to you if you live in the United States. Some operations also deliver plants to international destinations. You should always plant the bulbs as soon as you get them. If you can’t, make sure you store them in a cool place so they do not deteriorate as quickly.

My lillies are just starting to bloom. If you put some in full sun, and others in partial shade the shaded ones will bloom later than the full sun lillies. That way you can have color longer in your yard.
