Adavntages of Genetic Engineering, and Disadvantages
The good and bad of one of the most contreversial discoverys in human history.
Using genetic engineering we could manipulate nature. We would have the potential to make trees grow taller and stronger, make the leaves greener, to make it absorb more CO2 and emit more oxygen to lessen global warming and make the world more attractive and welcoming. Fruits could be made healthier – providing more antioxidants, etc, and humans could be made with a taste for anything, thoroughly enjoying all foods. We could all be strong and tall and have desirable features for ourselves and children. We could also be free of all diseases by having disease resistant genes.
However, some say even attempting such a thing is defying nature, and could only end badly. The world is in balance, and affecting that balance could disrupt nature’s entire ecosystem and plunge the world into death and sickness. Nature co-operates in a way that we may never understand and disrupting this delicate balance could cause unwanted chain reactions, repercussions that could throw into turmoil everything and destroy life as we know it.
