A New Animal?

Here are some adaptations I think that the platypus seriously needs.

New Adaptations For The Platypus

1.     A physical-body covering adaptation and a behavioural adaptation: thick fur, spikes on its tail, and its intimidating behaviour. The Territo Echinda now has thick furs that protects it from harm and also make spikes across its tail. (The spikes derive from echidnas, which have spikes across their body while the fur comes from bears.) This enhances life because one of the platypus’s threats is poachers, who hunt these animals for their beautiful fur coats. However, this new adaptation will help protect the Territo Echidna from any offensive because it would be very hard to pierce the tough skin to inflict any real harm. Just like the Ursus arctos, the Brown Bear, once enraged, the platypus would charge down the attacker and injure it with its sharp claws, teeth, poison spurs, and of course, those spikes on its tail that came from echidnas. This all seems intimidating and prevents other animals from attacking the territo echidna, hence the name.

2.     A physical-structural adaptation: sharp teeth. The Territo Echidna will have sharp teeth to be able to protect itself and tear meat with. This adaptation would make the Territo Echinda an omnivore as it can still grind plants and berries with duller molars at the back of the mouth (like the Homo sapien – humans) and chew meat and kill with sharper front teeth like those of the tiger. (the Panthera tigris)

3.     A behavioural adaptation: trash and waste that is controlled. The Territo Echidna will now regularly rid its burrow of waste and decomposing earth. This is because of the fungi Mucor amphiborum which can cause platypuses to die. The fungi only can grow on decomposing earth and compost so if there isn’t as many places for the fungi to incubate, the chances of getting it will decrease dramatically. This is like many animals such as the Marmota monax, the groundhog, which will clean its burrow too.
