This Shocking About The Universe
This Shocking About the Universe.
The universe is always surprising us about things that are sometimes extraordinary beyond human reasoning. Starting from the origin of the universe, the breadth, the object in it, black holes, stars and the discovery of strange planets and much more. Well here are some surprising things in the universe we inhabit, as quoted from space.com, Wednesday (10/05/2011).

The universe began with the Big Bang and is expected to occur approximately 13.7 billion years ago (plus or minus 130 million years old)
Astronomers calculate this by measuring the composition of matter and energy density in the universe that gave instructions for them to estimate sberapa rapid expansion of the universe in the past. Researchers will be brought back into the past and estimate when the Big Bang occurred. The time between the explosion until the current time is the age of our universe.

In 1920, astronomer Edwin Hubble made the revolutionary discovery that reveals that the universe is not static (fixed), but continue to grow / expand. But whether the gravity of the material will slow it down or there will be other new stuff?
In 1998 the Hubble telescope to observe the presence of a supernova that is located very far away and found that in the past the universe expanded more slowly than today. Of this puzzle, then comes the so-called dark energy (dark energy) that drives the acceleration of the universe’s expansion.
3. Increasing the acceleration of the Universe

Dark energy causing the universe not only expands, but causes other objects such as galaxies move away faster. Acceleration of the universe menegegaskan Einstein’s theory of general relativity and Einstein’s cosmological constant to explain the dark energy that seems capable of counteracting gravity and causing the universe to expand at an accelerating pace.
4. Can Shaped Universe “Flat”
Credit: NASA, ESA, P. Simon (University of Bonn) and T. Schrabback (Leiden Observatory)
Shape of the universe is the result of interaction between the pull of gravity (based on the density of matter in the universe) and acceleration. If the density of the universe exceeds a certain critical value, then the universe is “closed,” like the surface of a sphere. This implies that the universe is finite but has no end. In this case, the universe will eventually stop growing and begin to collapse on itself, in an event known as the “Big Crunch.”
