The Night Sky

The celestial sphere has a north and south celestial pole as well as a celestial equator which are projected reference points to the same positions on the Earth surface.

As the Earth moves on its axis so does the view of the night sky change for the people living in that region. Scientists and astronomers have developed the idea of celestial sphere to map the movement of the stars. The celestial sphere is a huge star-studded imaginary hollow ball surrounding the Earth.

This idea helps the astronomers to plot a path of star movement. This is the reason we see different constellations in summer and winters. The little Bear having a long tail with the Dragon stars circling around it can be seen in the same sky in summers, where Orion can be seen in the winters.
