NASA scientists have detected a planet again stranger outside the solar system (planets Extra solar) that contain organic molecules. That it is impossible planet inhabited by living things as planets form very hot gas. However, the planet can provide much new information about the history of life.
“This is the second planet outside our solar system that contains water, methane, and carbon dioxide, an important component in the biological process in which planets might be inhabited,” said Mark Swain, a researcher from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena , USA. The planet been observed with two powerful telescopes, the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spitzer Space Telescope.
The molecules are detected with an instrument capable of separating spestroskopi a recording based on the reflection of light with different wavelengths. Hubble telescope data using an infrared camera and spectrometer revealed multiobyek these molecules, whereas fotometer and Spitzer’s infrared spectrometer to measure levels of pregnancy.
Planet called HD 209458b is a gas giant planet that was bigger than the planet Jupiter. This planet orbiting a sun-like star in the constellation Pegasus, about 150 light years from Earth. Previously, NASA scientists first detected a foreign planet that contains the organic components of the planet HD 189733b in December 2008.
