Life, The Universe, and Death

Ever had deep thoughts about life and the afterlife? Ever wondered what would happen to the vast universe in the distant millennium? Then read this article, and look into my thoughts, beliefs and questions for you to answer with your opinions or wonder about.

As humans we are naturally open-minded about everything, for example, take a pencil. Non-open-minded people would say the pencil is a stick, whereas open-minded people would think about the certain type of wood the pencil is made out of and the material at the tip of the pencil. Same goes with thinking about the universe and everything. We pile together all of our knowledge of everything, and try to make sense of something that we just can’t explain.

The creation of our universe is an extremely complicated question. To be quite honest, I am not bias, I can gather points from Religion and Science. In most Religions, there is god/gods, and the story is that god created all. Where as Science has many theories about the birth of the universe and everything produced by the events of creation, the most commonly known, being The Big Bang. The Big Bang theory is that extremely dense and hot matter (the universe) which then expanded rapidly, creating a huge bang due to the amount of energy being released. Now, if you read The Big Bang theory once, you begin to think it makes perfect sense, BUT, they have more or less just said that all that dense and hot matter popped out of nowhere. What triggered that matter to be there. It’s a bit like having a glass of milk. If you put none in the glass, then you will get no milk, you need someone to pour the milk into the glass to get some milk. But that then leads on to more complicated questions…

Death. Death is one of the most feared experiences that we all have to experience eventually. But Humans; being humans, asked one of the hardest questions know to man-kind. What happens next? What happens after death? Most Religions; that somewhat has an answer for everything, believes that we go to a place called heaven, where all our dreams, and desires come true, and we experience this for all eternity. But people are starting to embrace the idea that when we die, there is just nothingness. No vision, no sound, no sences at all, and no thoughts. Now if you think about the “nothing” theory in detail, it sounds impossible. If we EXPERIENCE nothing, then we must be SOMETHING, because we are experiencing it. Nothing can not experience something. It’s like throwing a ball to nothing and getting it thown back at you. It makes no sense.

Life is another thing which we can look in detail about. How did life just appear out of rocks and gas? When the Earth was formed and cooled down, then liquid water came upon the Earth, how did life just pop out of no-where. Something non-living suddenly turning into something living? This supports the theory of God. I find it quite possible that God created SOMETHING that may have triggered a series of events such as The Big Bang and Evolution (living from non-living)

I’m not trying to insult people with a Religion, but it is also a possibility that Religion is complete rubbish. That Religion may have been something we have chose to believe because we cannot accept the fact that someday it’s all going to end, and so we create something to eliminate that.

What do you think?
