Big Fuss Over Big Bang

M-Theory or Inflation

Did the universe begin with a Big Bang, as suggested by Inflation Theory? Or does M-Theory offer an exotic alternative of an eleven dimensional Multiverse in which membranes collide, and as a side effect of these collisions Cosmi like ours are formed?

If true, then an extra-cosmic domain exists, in which these various membranes stretch toward infinity, occasionally bumping into each other making multiple cosmic bubbles, or alternate realities. What we currently know as our universe would therefore be just one among myriad alternate universes. However, a bigger question about these membrane collisions would be; do they really occur by accident? Is the production of universes actually nothing more than a side effect? Or could these collisions be directed with intention? Is there an extra-cosmic force or “Source” manipulating these membranes, with intelligence? Could these membrane collisions be caused by a Cosmos Designer? Right now there is no way to know with certainty, however, we should not just automatically rule out such a possibility merely because we can not at this time confirm it.

Some have already suggested that if M-Theory is proven, thus displacing the current standard model of Inflation Theory, it will be the final nail in God’s coffin, for according to their opinion, in that event God would no longer be necessary for an entire Universe to come into existence.

While there may be an increasing body of evidence indicating the truth of M-Theory, this theory has not yet been proven. And even if mounting evidence of M-Theory increases over the next few years, which is really quite likely, that still proves nothing about the question of whether or not the Universe was designed by some form of intelligence, such as we might call God. In fact, if M-Theory is proven, it would mean there is a domain beyond our Universe, which actually could be the domain of an extra-cosmic Entity capable of perceiving reality in eleven dimensions or possibly more, if there are more. After all, if the Multiverse does have eleven dimensions, as suggested by M-Theory, then why shouldn’t there be entities capable of maneuvering within and in full perception of all eleven of those dimensions? By comparison to us, with our limited perceptions to our little three dimensions of space, and bound by the ever forward flow of the forth dimension of time, such an enormously multidimensional being would certainly seem rather “god-like” in nature.

So, proving the reality of M-Theory could in fact make the existence of God more likely than if M-Theory were proven false. Now bear in mind, God as understood in this context would actually be nothing like the anthropomorphic “gods” of mythological or religious origin. Contrary to what many atheists may think, or tell you, mythology is not the only origin of the God concept. There are several historic philosophical, (non-mythological), precedents. Among them we find the ancient Greek philosophical theory, espoused by Anaxagoras, (from Athens; circa 500 – 428 BC), who taught of the Cosmic Designer he called the Nous (”Mind”). Also having much in common with this designer of the Cosmos, we have historically much later the philosophical Deistic school of thought from the time we now know as the Age of Enlightenment in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth centuries of the Common Era. Classic Deism, and even more recently Pandeism are not mythological approaches to the idea of a theoretical entity that may have designed the universe. These philosophical approaches to the question are primarily based on a logical deductive reasoning rather like this:

An interesting theory, however theories are so hard to prove.

It’s just a theory, yet people make such a fuss. Thanks for sharing!

I beg to differ with the comments I have seen so far. Theroies have become fact as well as the building blocks to the humankinds evolving into that which they once were long ago, but have forgotten.

Another brilliant look into the realm of possibilities which truly exist and yet so many are still blind to it becvause they still sleep.

Awesome article, very worthy of yet another ping.

I love reading theories into things because after all if there is no definitive proof then we need to theoretically discuss. Interesting. :)

This was totally beyond my humble comprehension….but, I believe since it is theory…and theories come and go, I will stick solid with the fact of Creation. After all, I don’t see how anyone is going to put this theory or God in a coffin….His Word is forever. Just look at how hard those who come up with all these theories have tried to destroy His Word. Bible still is on the best seller list every year, is read and quoted more times than any other book every written.

Have any of you who cling to your theories every thought about reading the fact?

Interesting article. Though, I must say that previous comment (about creation being a fact) made me laugh. Religious theories are no fact, they are just theories that are even less possible (well, they are impossible to prove) to prove than theories you talk about in this article. Only difference is that they are easier to understand for masses (and there is long history of forcing people into believing them and brainwashing). So they are still more popular. That has nothing to do with proving that theory.

By the way, sorry I commented more on another comment than on your article, but I have nothing else to say anyway. I liked it and it was interesting.

God cannot exist, that’s common sense….however since the truth behind universe and life’s so puzzling and baffling, it compels us to seek the help of some unknown, imaginary force.

Sorry, Swagatam, but there is nothing common about that kind of sense.

I find the logic of Deism, and even moreso of Pandeism, very compelling. Our Universe is precisely what an entity might engineer if it wished to experience existence as a Universe likely to give rise to intelligent life.
