Aurora Borealis Imitation Lights Up Your Room
The best time of year to see aurora is in the winter. The best places in the world to view aurora are Canada, Alaska and Scandinavia.
There are different kinds of aurora, or natural light displays, in the sky. Aurora are caused by energetic particles that enter the earth’s upper atmosphere from the magnetosphere. Solar flares can spark auora and in August, 2010, a large number of aurora formed across the earth. This was the result of a solar flare.
A high level of geomagnetic activity produces a more beautiful aurora. The level of geomagnetic activity is measured in Kp and has a value from zero to nine.

Aurora can occur anywhere in the earth but persons who are located near to the North Pole or the South Pole are more likely to see an aurora, because of the higher altitude at those points.
The Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights occur in the northern part of the earth and are the most well known aurora.

The beauty of the Northern Lights can be brought into your home with the use of digital lighting. The Genso Kukan Aurora is made in Japan and imitates the Aurora Borealis by casting colorful red, green, violet, blue and yellow lights on your walls.

The exact technology behind the device is a company secret. However, light emitting diodes (LEDs) are used to help produce the effect.
The device has a timer, so you can set it and fall asleep in the relaxing ambiance.

Another lighting option that can produce the effect is the Banpresto Aurora Palette. This device projects moving light patterns which constantly change color, onto the walls of your room.
The Banpresto Aurora Palette is also made in Japan.

Interesting. I have never seen it personally. And probably won’t for few more years or maybe never. I do not think this imitation device is available in my country. After all, as I know my countrymen, no one would care buy it anyway (at least unless they would show it on TV everyday during breaks in soap operas, then majority of elderly people would buy it then and never use it).
