Astronomer from Arizona State University managed to take the image of a galaxy Far. The galaxy is a galaxy that formed when the universe was still young which was only about 800 million years. This galaxy, named LAEJ095950.99 +021219.1 10 became one of the farthest galaxies ever found because the distance is currently at 13 billion light years. In the picture above the green galaxy (middle image).
Quoted from universetoday.com, Monday (04/06/2012), this galaxy was detected by light emission from ionized hydrogen using Magellan Telescope IMACS (Inamori-Magellan Areal Camera and Spectrograph) made at the Carnegie Institute in Washington. The team of astronomers using a narrow band filter of the tool is designed to limit the wavelength of a particular light.
“Young galaxies must be observed with infrared wavelengths and is not easy if we do this using Earth-based telescopes because the Earth’s atmosphere itself emits light which makes it difficult to observe young galaxies,” said Sangeeta Malhotra, head of research from Arizona State University.
